Headquartered in the Lincoln suburb of Seward, Nebraska, Seward Motor Freight has been hauling goods since the early 1940s. Safety has long been a paramount concern of Seward Motor Freight, and the organization’s safety program has received annual awards from the Nebraska Trucking Association since 1986.

The predominant nonprofit trade group for commercial trucking companies in Nebraska, the Nebraska Trucking Association (NTA) strives to establish and guide important industry policies and best practices. The division of the NTA responsible for distributing annual safety awards for fleets is the NTA Safety Management Council.

In addition to recognizing exceptional safety practices on the highways and elsewhere, the NTA Safety Management Council assists fleet professionals who want to advance their safety management skills, learn about important regulations and trends, and network with other trucking industry professionals with a focus on safety. It sponsors monthly safety management programs on the second Thursday of each month from September to May. It also regularly spearheads various public safety outreach initiatives.
